Cynthia Irani is a Lebanese-Canadian designer living in the beautiful city of Montreal - Canada, with her husband and two daughters.
She studied Graphic Design in 2001 and has worked in the tech industry for over 15 years across multiple industries - namely in gaming, advertising, telemedicine, maritime, and e-commerce.
But most recently, she has found her calling somewhere in the middle — or some would say, somewhere outside of her original “spectrum”. Cynthia has combined her love for the fine arts, cakes and botanicals by portraying her signature free-flowing petals and exploring new mediums at a time. Her current favourites are gum paste, wafer paper, Italian crepe paper, Swiss Meringue buttercream, watercolour and ink. She also enjoys pottery, embroidery and knitting.
She finds herself today on Instagram and gained her an international following of over 100K loyal fans across the globe. She launched her first online cake decorating course Modern Cake Painting with ifimade after receiving high demand in learning her signature style and techniques.
She'll be working on her next online sugar flower course soon. Meanwhile, she'll be hosting virtual workshops on Zoom. She also leads local in-person workshops and some that are hosted by cake decorating institutions nationally and internationally. (Currently paused due to COVID-19)
"I see nature as my recipe. I want to study it, sculpt it, smooth it, elevate it and capture it. Basically I want to handcraft its every delicate detail and shape it into a blossoming edible composition."
