What you’ll learn in this 2-day workshop
Over the next two days, you will be learning and putting into action the techniques behind Cynthia's gorgeous signature sugar peonies out of gum paste, along with buds & leaves, including, but not limited to, her approach to colour, structure, and final composition. Combining the gum paste skills you have learned, you will design a floral composition on a 1-tier faux cake to take home.
The fundamentals of colour theory using edible primary gels
Mixing primary colours to produce an array of neutrals and pastel shades
How to create unique colour palettes with fondant
Recipe and demo for making gum paste
How Cynthia translates inspiration into a real-life cake
How to look at colours, composition, and structure for different designs (from nature and florist compositions)
Please arrive 10 minutes before the workshop begins
All supplies and materials will be provided for in-class use only
A light lunch will be provided during the one hour lunch break each day
These workshops are non-refundable & non-exchangeable. If the minimum number of participants (minimum 6 people) is not met 5 days prior to the date, the workshop will be cancelled or postponed.
